Johannes is a senior Sport and Recreation Management Major at Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Born in a baseball town called Haarlem, located in the Netherlands, Johannes moved to Rockland, New York at the age of 8 with his mother and brother. While his father’s side of the family remained overseas, Johannes and his brother were given the opportunity to visit multiple times a year. He has travelled much of Europe and is passionate about bringing his multicultural background to his peers. Originally moving to Philadelphia to study Architecture, Johannes realized this was not the direction he wanted for his career. Having always been passionate about sports, Johannes was excited to take his life in another direction after discovering that STHM has the #1 Sports and Recreation Management program in the country. Johannes hopes that after graduation he can spread his love for baseball internationally.
Shelby Krans is a senior at Temple University studying Tourism and Hospitality Management. Ever since working at her father’s restaurant in middle school, Shelby knew she wanted to make a career for herself in the Hospitality Industry. At the restaurant she learned the fundamentals by working just about every position from dishwasher to line cook and everything in between. Looking to gain more experience in the catering field, she then worked for Jeffery A. Miller Catering at the beautiful Lake House Inn and interned with Doylestown Country Club as an event manager. The thing she likes the most about the hospitality industry is the ability to make customers feel welcomed, amazed, and gratified with the quality service she is able to provide.
