Rebecca Krick is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management with a concentration in Hospitality Operations. She is currently employed at Temple University Housing and Residential Life where she works as a Resident Assistant, cultivating community relations of 78 undergraduate students through community engagement programming/mentorship. Rebecca is also an inaugural Ambassador Student Captain within the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management where she provides support to the faculty and students in the Center for Student Services with daily tasks. Over the course of her undergraduate career, Rebecca was involved with American Hotel & Lodging Association, NEWH- the Hospitality Network Philadelphia/AC Chapter, Phi Sigma Pi- National Honor Society, Eta Sigma Delta- International Hospitality Management Honor Society, and Skål International Philadelphia as a Young Skål Member. This past summer, she interned in the Corporate Human Resources Department at Wyndham Worldwide Headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Victoria Hagel is a student at Temple University majoring in Sports and Recreation Management. Victoria completed her junior internship with East Norriton Parks and Recreation. She has also interned with Warrington Parks and Recreation. Over her college career, Victoria has assisted with Philadelphia Special Olympics, Philadelphia Police Athletic League, and the Carousel House. Victoria has a passion for helping plan different events for children at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where Victoria had a short stay when she had heart surgery. After graduation, Victoria wants to plan events for children who are in the hospital. After completing that dream, Victoria would like to go into college athletics specifically in events or college compliance.
Scott is a Sport and Recreation Management major at Temple University. He transferred to STHM three years ago from Lehigh Carbon Community College where he received his A. S. in Sport Management. In his three years at Temple, Scott has gained hours of industry-related experience within each of the five major Sports teams in the Philadelphia area. He also spent last summer interning with the Reading Royals, a minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, in their merchandise department. The summer prior was spent working as a marketing and event intern with the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Scott has also spent the last three years working for the College of Science and Technology at Temple as a Student Event Coordinator. In this role, Scott has been planning and executing several major events each semester including their Bi-Annual Career Fair. Scott looks forward to using the skillset he has developed through his experiences at Temple to begin his career in the professional sports industry.
Elan Jackson is Sport and Recreation Management major in Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management with a concentration in Governance and Policy. Elan is a former student-athlete at Temple University where he was a member of the track and field team. Elan completed his junior internship with Temple University’s football program, in their recruiting and athletic communications department. Elan also works in the athletic communication department for football, basketball, and volleyball where he works with reporters to make sure they have what they need to write their stories. He has also worked in youth sport camps in multiple locations in Massachusetts. At these camps, he is asked to organize drills, develop skills pertaining to the sport, and interact with kids of ages 7-18 and their parents. Elan values his loyalty, adaptability and his ability to communicate within an organization.
Kieran has many different experiences in and around the Philadelphia area. For example, he works in marketing for Temple University Athletics and works with operations for large high schools and recreation leagues. Kieran’s ideal internship would be in a Division I school’s athletic department. However, he is open to other experiences to broaden his outlook. After the completion of his internship, Kieran plans on getting into a collegiate athletic department and working his way up through various positions to achieve his goal of one day becoming an Athletic Director. Kieran has lofty goals, but he knows he can accomplish them because of his drive and determination.
Thomas H. “Trey” Rogers III is currently a senior at Temple University in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. He is currently working to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. With seven years of experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in the area of Golf Operations, Trey plans on expanding his knowledge of the industry into the Sales and Marketing areas. His openness to new experiences has helped broaden his interest and experience in several new areas of the tourism and hospitality industry. After completion of his senior internship, as well as graduation, Trey hopes to work in the Sales and Marketing department of a hotel corporation or a hospitality group or pursue a Juris Doctor degree.
