Founded in the fall of 2013 by Danny Alotta, Joy Juice is a prime example of how to capture good from a bad situation. A self proclaimed “Fortunate,” Joy Juice is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization that empowers teens and young adults affected by cancer through the power of fashion. Danny was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease as a senior in high school. The day he walked out the door for his first treatment, he said to his parents, “It’s time for my Joy Juice!”. He believed if he looked good, he’d feel good, and Danny gave himself fashion makeovers before receiving his chemotherapy.
Danny has taken the joy he got from his makeovers and is spreading it to teens going through similar situations. He has partnered with various organizations in the surrounding Philadelphia area (Ronald Mcdonald House,Temple University, MonMouth Medical Center, etc.) to provide fun makeovers to help these teens feel empowered throughout their process.
Danny and his one man show will be coming to Temple University this spring!!! Click HERE for more details regarding the show!
