Grethel Varona, Chair

Grethel is currently a senior at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in tourism and hospitality management. She successfully completed her junior internship with Philadelphia Hospitality as a marketing and event intern. She plans to graduate in the Fall of 2017. Her interest in hospitality operations supports her aim in obtaining a position within the hotel industry with the hopes of one day traveling around the world.


Katie Rose Augustine

Katie Rose Augustine is senior studying sport and recreation management at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University. She was born in Northampton, Pennsylvania. Katie Rose successfully completed her internship with the Sixers Youth Foundation. Her interests in the sport industry include community relations, nonprofits, and youth development. She plans to use her career platform to promote a positive social change in the world. Katie Rose is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys spending her free time at the beach.


Alexandra Mottershead

Alex will be graduating from Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management in Spring 2017 with a Bachelor of a Science degree in tourism and hospitality management and a minor in general business studies.  Alex successfully completed her junior internship at Celebrations Wedding Facility in Bensalem, PA as a sales and production intern as well as three other internships (with The Walt Disney Company, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, and Trilogy Event Design) thus far.  She is currently a member of the International Hospitality Management Society (Eta Sigma Delta) and has been published by Social Tables.


Antonio Russo

Antonio Joseph (AJ) Russo is currently a Senior in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management with a focus in tourism and hospitality management. With an outgoing and personable demeanor, AJ has diverse experiences that gave him exposure to different sectors of hospitality such as hotels, events, and food and beverage management. AJ successfully completed two internships, one with a non-profit organization called Gift of Life as a front desk intern and the second as a food and beverage intern at Waynesborough Country Club. These internships gave AJ an understanding of the importance of working as a team and setting personal goals. AJ is also a dedicated individual with a passion for long distance running. Through running marathons, AJ understands personal motivation, dedication, hard work, and self-discipline. AJ’s goal is to succeed in the hospitality industry where he will strive to achieve both business and personal goals.
