Maria Oritsetserundede Lodge was born and raised in Nigeria and moved to the United States of America in 2013 to further her education. She is currently a senior at Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management program, pursuing a degree in sport and recreation management. Over this past summer, Maria successfully completed her junior internship at Philadelphia University’s Athletic Department as the intercollegiate athletic recruiting intern. When she graduates in Spring 2017, she hopes to secure a job within a college athletic department or Major League Soccer (MLS). Maria is a very good listener and a focused young lady who is relentless and not afraid to take on challenges. One of her favorite quotes is “In the end it is not the years in your life that matters, it is the life in your years.” Make it count!
Austin Kubala is currently a senior at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) with a major in sport and recreation management and a concentration in governance and policy. Austin spent one semester at West Virginia University before transferring to Temple University. He serves as the president of the Sport and Governance Association (SAGA) and completed his junior internship with the Temple Owl Club. He will be completing his senior internship in the spring with the University of Notre Dame’s Athletic Department. Upon completion, Austin will graduate in May of 2017 and then pursue his Masters Degree in Sport Business at Temple as part of the 4+1 accelerated degree program, graduating in May of 2018. Austin hopes to work in collegiate athletics ensuring that all athletes are taking advantage of the education provided for them and ultimately prepare them for what life will look like after sports.
